Last year in May, I traveled way down south, to an island in Louisiana. To be with the most effervescent bride and her most adoring groom. They invited us to their family estate where they were hosting their wedding. Heron in the air, gators in the water, it was unquestionably one of the most beautiful weekends of my life.
All the guests were dressed in the most beautiful Easter Sunday colors, the bride wore a dress that transformed halfway through the night. There was a whole hog and oysters for days. Their love is so gentle, so giddy. The bride had prayed for a rainbow on their wedding day....and if you notice in scrolling this post, she was listened to.
It was an awesome all powerful day. Happy Anniversary Month you guys!
Brooke called me on a Monday, and by Friday we were running around in the Tennessee hills marrying her to Clay, her love. The rain cleared and passed as we drove up to this tiny always-open church, filled with stained glass windows and rainbow light. This was where Brooke and Clay wanted to be married, the site of their first date, just 5 months earlier. We trekked around the grounds and they decided it befitting to discard their shoes and wade into the mossy creek behind the church. Their two best friends witnessed and officiated their ceremony, and their four legged friends gave Brooke and Clay to each other. After hours climbing rocks and walking hand in hand in meadows, they returned to the city where their friends received them to congratulate their day. Here is our evidence.

It WAS A PARTY. Everyone. And I mean everyone in this family was a gifted singer and performer. Everytime I turned around some new member of Mel's immediate family had taken the stage and was belting out something that demanded cheers from the crowd. Everyone danced here, there was so much love going around this night, I cried and laughed with the best of them.
But what came before the party was the gentle fervor of bustling families bringing this lovebird in for landing, Melodie and Chase's wedding day...
Honored to have been here. I missed everyone the next day. Thanks Bobby and Mel for letting me be there. Love you guys.
Emily and Nate got married in her home state of Michigan. The air was clean, and fresh. It was the last day of autumn and it was perfect.
